What is the best weight training I can do for soccer and track? I play soccer year round (midfield) and run track in the winter and spring. I pole vault and run mostly 400m and 400 hurdles in track. I have the availibility of a weight room everyday with free weights. Any tips on specific exercises or lifting schdules to imporve in both sports?
I do alot of squats, leg extensions, leg press, e.t.c, some weight lifting and alot of running but I try not to do too much weight lifting because I dont want to get too big cause then it will slow me down.

im a newbie player that wants to join a D5 team. idk if D5 means division 5 or if it means the team is advanced. so what are some training things i could do to get ready for the season?
first you have to think about waht you need to improve on. if your not exactly the fastest runner on the pitch, then you should run (interval training and up-hill running are among the best), or if your touch needs improvment than you should juggle or just dribble around your yard or anywhere you have access to. hope this helps you and best of luck at your tryout!!!

Just want to know what are good things to train that will help me with soccer. Like running and sit-ups. Thing that don't involve getting more technique with the ball but just getting physically ready to play, so training without the use of a soccer ball. Thanks for answering! (If you do!)
For soccer your training will deal how fast you are with and with out the ball. You would also need the ball to get more technique because repetition is important for most of the sports concept. Also running sprints(100 meters with a 30 second rest break in between and due 10 and then runn 200 meters with a minute break in between and do 10) long distance more than a mile but if you can't run a mile then runn 1/2 4 times with a 2 minute break in between, but if you can run past a mile run a mile with a 1 minute break 2 times. If you run with the ball when you do any of these you will become faster with the ball on you foot. You could hit the weight room and do about 50% of your max. Bench 8 to 12 reps 3 times with 30 rest perios. Squat 8 to 12 3 times and a 4th time till you ca't do any more. Leg press 8 to 12 3 times.(for the work out you should do upper body one day then lower body the next with a rest day after lower body) If you want to see the results you should eat right.

i want to get better at soccer, what r some good traning techniques?
if you are training on your own practice control by vollying the ball off a wall and practice traps by kicking it against the wall and taking it down on your, thigh, head, chest, and foot. Also, work on your fitness by running around your neighborhood and alternating between jogging and sprinting (maybe everytime you pass a mailbox, switch off). Also, get some 5 or 10 lb. dumbells and work on toning your muscles. The more muscle you have, the faster you run (have you ever seen Brandi ChastaIn?-she's ripped!) hope this helped- oh and if you need some mental motivation, watch Bend it like Beckham!

tell me please
Keep practicing, the more time you spend with a ball, your body will "remember" the motions needed to control the ball. Just takes time and practice.

I already know the scissors, but I've heard they don't work very well.
hey mate, I wouldnt say scissors dont work. they're a great offensive weapon for any attacking player! however they must be done at pace with skill. if you can't do this and its obvious on what your doing then you are correct they dont work. on breakaways i find it very easy to do a series of scissors and stepovers consecutivly in a stride and its a 70% chance if they are done at pace and good skill that u will beat any defender. simple chops inside the 18 work very effectivly as well. as long as your moves are done at pace and with a great bit of skill any move can be effective.
cheers and good luck mate

I would especially encourage ones made up and would really fake out the opponent
A rainbow is the classic…
you could go with a hocus pocus.
Personally, i don't use moves.
i just go to their left or right.
